July 3, 2006: As we prepare to celebrate our nation’s histroy of freedom, some recent bids to discriminate against LGBT people are sputtering out like wet firecrackers.

In Illinois, an anti gay marraige amendment does not look like its going to make it to the ballots in November, and in Pennsylvania, an proposed amendment that would have banned equal marriage and civil union rights has died in committee.
