The Gay Parenting Show # 25: The American Fertility Association and Sasha Speaks! - (MP3 –12MB –34min)
June 27, 2006: In this week’s show I interview Pamela Madsen, executive director of the American Fertility Association. The AFA is doing great work opening their doors to LGBT people interested in becoming parents. They’ve produced a very helpful pamphlet for same sex families called Two Dads, Two Moms: Insights on Gay and Lesbian Family Building, which you can find here.
But before we talk to Pam, we have an interview with another very special guest star – my son Sasha. I thought you’d all like to hear what’s on his six-year-old mind. I couldn’t be prouder of the little guy.
Sasha confesses to his love of musicals (hey, he is his father’s son) and waxes philosophically on videogames and his upcoming birthday. It’s fascinating listening – at least for his dad.
I also talk about a recent study that finds some more evidence that homosexuality is biologically determined, and an article in the SF Chronicle that describes the present moment as a critical time for our movement.
Thanks to HRC for their sponsorship and thanks to you for listening.
