The Gay Parenting Show #20: HRC and a Surprise Announcement!
(MP3 – 18MB –50min)
April 20, 2006: Our special guest today is Ellen Kahn, Director of HRC’s Family Project. Ellen tells us about what HRC is doing for our families, and she makes a very special announcement. You can get a preview of her exciting news here.
Before that, I give a quick update on some of our previous guests. Find out what happened to our guest from show number three, a gay man who had eight children (no, he didn’t move into a shoe) and get an update on the woman from show 18 who was undergoing artificial insemination with her partner. But first, an interview with newsman extraordinaire Michael Rogers, of PageOneQ.com. Michael fills us in on how LGBT families fared at the White House Easter Egg Roll.If you’re new to the show and want to know more about it, check out this post.
Thanks for listening! Be sure to leave your comments below.

I just want to leave a possitive comment. I’m a straight teenager who is very pro-gay rights and am glad the LGBT community is exersizing the rights they have, and am happy to see how Gay Rights is advancing.

listened to the pod yesterday with 10 yr old daughter yesterday! what a great program. The Easter Egg Roll Ticket scam was a real eye opener for her. I said to her, imagine if we (her moms her brother, her older sister and her) went to go do something together as a family) were in line first to get tickets. And all the families that had mommys and daddys were allowed to go first even though they slept in and didn’t get their in line first. Just cuz you had two mommys. How would that make you feel? And what would you do about that?
I have been listening since about your 16th. Keep going!

I just heard about the Gay Parenting Show through the HRC Family Project email newsletter and I am hooked!! It is so exciting to have a resource for our families that not only provides useful information, but also validates our very existence!
There are so many GLBT families across America and the numbers are growing every day. This show, as well as the HRC Family Project illuminates the commonalities among our families as well as highlights the challenges we face. You are helping create a “virtual community”. And as you know, “it takes a village”…
Thank you Scott for taking the initiative to provide us with this informative and entertaining show!
