The Sickest Politician Ever?
March 28, 2006: While there are some people who, because of their own prejudices, ignorance, confusion about their own sexuality or other irrational fears, oppose gay adoptions, I never thought I would hear anyone in public life - especially a politician who is sworn to look out for all citizens, say anything this hateful:
“We also have seen evidence that homosexual couples prey on young males and have, in some instances, adopted them in order to have unfretted access to subject them to a life of molestation and sexual abuse”
What kind of sick, twisted mind works like this? The (we can only assume) insane woman who spewed that bile is Rep. Debra Maggart, R-Hendersonville, TN. She also asserts that
Research shows most homosexual couples have numerous emotional dysfunctions and psychological issues that may not be healthy for children.
Maggot er, sorry, Maggart claims, hilariously, that “the research she’s read comes from a variety of sources, including the ACLU and Focus on the Family, a Christian group.” So, the ACLU is now saying that gay men, with their various “emotional dysfunctions and psychological issues” adopt young boys to molest them? Umm, I don’t think so Ms. Maggot Maggart.
In fact, this is from an ACLU press release - just one example of a case where they defended a LGBT person’s right to parent:
Jackson County Circuit Court judge today overturned a Missouri Department of Social Services decision denying a woman’s application to become a foster parent because she is a lesbian. The American Civil Liberties Union, which represents the applicant, Lisa Johnston, in challenging the denial, hailed the ruling as an important move towards increasing the pool of qualified foster parents for the nearly 2,000 children in Missouri who need foster homes.
Of course, a polititian who would slander millions of Americans with the vilest kind of rhetoric would lie about where she got her “facts” from. What a horrowshow.
