Parenthood is Really for the Strong of Stomach
February 13, 2006: I love being a dad. But today was one of those days when I loved it a little less.
On Mondays, our son and foster chld both go to the same daycare. I went early today to pick up our foster child for a doctor’s appointment, but when I got there I found out that he had just thrown up all over himself, the floor, another child and one of the daycare workers. I was helping clean up the unholy mess when a teacher came down from Sasha’s class to tell me I might as well pick him up, too - he had also just thrown up all over himself.
Before the night was over, I was wearing two kid’s worth of puke and wasn’t feeling too good myself.
Tomorrow is SO not going to be any fun.

Scott,
ugh how nerve wracking! As I sat with my partner after our long awaited furniture arrived I said, “honey, do you realize this is the furniture our children will grown on (as we struggle to keep the dogs from coming on the new furniture)?” And then I also say, “Crap what were we thinking buying brand new expensive furniture? Our kids are going to puke and spill juice all over this (light blue) thing. Oh well, enjoy it while it lasts.”
Hope the kids are feeling better and you stay clear of puke!

Thanks, Anne. Yes, there is a reason why previous generations thought slipcovers were OK.
