Follow the Story of Two Women Making A Baby

February 9, 2006: I got a nice note from a woman who’s started a very interesting blog that chronicles her and partner’s “voyage as a lesbian couple trying to conceive through IUI.”

I love it when our families tell their stories. Anne is a charming writer and I hope she keeps up the blog. There are only a handful of entries so far, but the first one is promising:

“I have embarked on a journey, a journey that is comprised of peeing on sticks, holding them at arms length and trying to determine if line a is as dark blue as line b. That’s right, ovulation kits. My partner and I are trying to have a baby.”

Having never peed on a stick (well, at least not that I’d tell you about), I find this kind of discussion endlessly fascinating. I can’t wait to see how things go for Anne and her partner. Will we be reading next year about their new baby? I sure hope so!

If you’d like to follow her story, and send her some encouragement, check out her blog at http://hbbaby.wordpress.com/.
